Öryggismiðstöðin

On November 22nd, 2022, an agreement was signed with Öryggismiðstöð Íslands on the purchase of instruments and the rental of software for remote healthcare services. The software in question comes from a Norwegian healthcare technology company and contains a digital health portal that sends all data to clouds and allows HSU healthcare professionals to carry out remote surveillance of patients e.g. in their homes. The monitoring is performed by screen visits, questionnaires and instruments connected to the patient and sending data directly to the software. The system provides a health plan for patients and detects changes in the patient's health. Staff will then receive notification from the system and respond. The objective of the system is to respond rapidly to changes in patients' health and to reduce further deterioration through early intervention. The system also offers the use of electronic medicine dispensers and they are monitored through the digital health portal. This is a major milestone and a revolution in improving the service of HSU and enhancing the new geriatric and home health services, as well as enabling people to live longer at home with the help of technology, nurses and family members.
