The new electoral law brought into force the amended rules on assistance in voting, see also. A voter shall be entitled to assistance in voting.

Assistance shall be provided by the election director or an assistant accompanying the voter at the polling station. The party providing assistance to the voter is bound by the obligation of confidentiality regarding what he or she and the voter are going to go between in the ballot. An assistant to a voter shall confirm by his or her signature on a special form that he or she has been instructed of his or her responsibilities and duties as an assistant and that he or she meets the eligibility criteria for assistantship. The elections director shall also sign and preserve the confirmation. An assistant to a voter, he or she may not become an assistant to more than three voters at the same election. A candidate, his/her spouse, children, siblings and parents may not render assistance with voting.
