Iceland Health and Defend Iceland Sign Agreement on Increased Cyber Security
Defend Iceland, a leading company in the field of cyber security solutions, has signed an agreement with Iceland Health on cooperation that will further ensure cyber security and the protection of sensitive data within the healthcare system.
Through the collaboration, Iceland Health will have access to the latest cyber security solutions of Defend Iceland, thus ensuring continuous follow-up with the agency's cyber security. Iceland Health will use the expertise of Defend Iceland's security experts through the company's Wildfire Portal, a platform where methods of cyber attack groups are simulated in order to detect vulnerabilities in network, software and computer systems, and thus protect medical records and other sensitive data against potential cyber attacks.
Data security is a priority for Iceland Health and we are very pleased to enter into a partnership with Defend Iceland. With this cooperation we can ensure that our clients are protected even more in the area of cyber security.
says Sigurður H. Helgason, CEO of Iceland Health.
We are proud to be able to support the Iceland Health in this important area. Health data is among the most sensitive information in society, and it is our job to ensure that it is secure. The fact that Iceland Health is joined by Defend Iceland, as the institution joins the powerful actors where there are already Landspítali and Digital Iceland, also fills us with optimism that more public entities will take important steps to ensure the cyber security of their systems and public data.
says Theódór Ragnar Gíslason, founder and CEO of Defend Iceland.
The agreement is part of Iceland Health policy to strengthen information security and ensure that its systems meet the highest security standards. The cooperation is also an important milestone for Defend Iceland, which strengthens its position as a leading company in Internet security solutions in Iceland.
