Why do students have to take a theoretical flight test both at a flight school and at the Icelandic Transport Authority?
According to the regulation of the European Union no. 1178/2011 regarding flight crew licences, the flight school must recommend the applicant for the test when the applicant has completed the relevant parts of the course in theoretical studies with satisfactory results. The flight school does this by testing student pilots in the relevant subject.
