Social Insurance Administration: Changes to disability and rehabilitation payments

What is the advantage of new partial disability pension?

Part-time disability pensions are intended to provide financial support to individuals with the ability to be active in the labour market and to be an incentive for employment, where the threshold for earnings on the basis of the job is increased.

The special income limit for earnings is ISK 250,000 per month for those who receive a partial disability pension in addition to the general income limit of ISK 100,000. This will increase support for those with reduced skills in the labour market and meet a diverse group of people who do not have the full capacity to be active in the labour market.
