Guidelines for masters of cruise and passenger ships arriving in Iceland

The Environment Agency of Iceland, the Icelandic Transport Authority and the Icelandic Coast Guard have issued guidelines for the management of passenger ships arriving in Iceland. The guidelines include an overview of provisions in Icelandic legislation that apply to the voyages of passenger ships in Iceland and concern maritime safety, pollution prevention and nature protection. They also include some recommendations from the agencies to passenger ships. The guidelines are intended to ensure that the travel and travel plans of passenger ships at sea do not contravene environmental and nature protection legislation in Iceland. The guidelines are issued in electronic form, both in Icelandic and English.
