Expulsion and re-entry ban to Iceland

When a decision on expulsion is final, the person in question must leave the country, with or without an escort. The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police is responsible for the implementation. The cost of this shall be paid by the treasury, but the party in question is required to repay and remains in debt to the State until the debt has been paid. The person in question is, however, permitted to purchase flights from the country himself/herself in consultation with the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police.
