Artists’ Salary Fund
Artists’ salaries (listamannalaun) are awarded to independent artists and are intended to strengthen culture and the arts in Iceland by providing income for artistic creation.
Artists’ salaries are granted from eight funds:
The Salary Fund for Designers and Architects (launasjóður hönnuða og arkitekta)
The Salary Fund for Visual Artists (launasjóður myndlistarmanna)
The Salary Fund for Writers (launasjóður rithöfunda)
The Salary Fund for Performing Artists (launasjóður sviðslistafólks)
The Salary Fund for Music Performers (launasjóður tónlistarflytjenda)
The Salary Fund for Composers (launasjóður tónskálda)
The Salary Fund for Screenwriters (launasjóður kvikmyndahöfunda)
Vegsemd, the fund for artists aged 67 and older
(Note: Applications are not made directly to Vegsemd; rather, applications by artists aged 67 and older to the above funds may fall under Vegsemd.)
The funds are administered by the Board of Artists’ Salaries.
If an applicant has previously received an artists’ working grant, a new application will only be considered if a progress or final report for the earlier grant has been submitted to the Board of Artists’ Salaries.
All applications must be submitted electronically through the Rannís application portal.
