Services and counselling for adopted children in their adult life

The District commisioner of the capital area may offer an interview to those who have been adopted on the basis of a licence or prior consent in Iceland and who have reached the age of 18 for adoption.

The extent of counselling shall be up to 5 interviews for each individual, free of charge, with each interview taking up 1 hour.

Those who request an interview with the District commisioner shall submit a request to this effect to the District commisioner.

The service aims to meet the needs of grown adoptees who struggle with challenges in their daily lives.
