Restricted professional position as a pharmacist on a temporary basis

A student who has completed a fourth year of study in pharmaceutical sciences and two months of practical training in a pharmacy may receive authorization to practice restricted activities of a pharmacist on a temporary basis.

The applicant may engage in these activities only in the presence of a pharmacist responsible or their replacement, who must also be a pharmacist.

The application must specify:

• the pharmacy in which the applicant intends to work

• periods of employment

• the responsible pharmacist

Additionally, a confirmation must be submitted that a two-month practical training in a pharmacy has been completed. If you are studying pharmaceutical sciences at an educational institution other than the University of Iceland, you need to submit a confirmation that the fourth year has been completed.

The authorization is sent by e-mail to the e-mail address of the applicant and the responsible pharmacist.
