Licence to practice as a healthcare professional

Request for a certificate

• A person who has lost an issued licence can not request a reissue or copy of the licence. On the other hand, one can request a certificate confirming that the person in question has a valid licence to practice. The certificates are issued both in Icelandic and English.

• Letter of Conformity that confirms that a healthcare professional education meets the requirements of Directive 2005/36/EC. This only applies to studies that take place in Iceland.

• Each certificate costs 2.700 Isk.

• Those who do not have electronic identification can send a request for an issue of a certificate to starfsleyfi@landlaeknir.is. Once the application has been processed, the certificate will be sent to the applicant by email.
