The Álfabrekka afforestation project in Grímsnes- og Grafningshreppur has received certification from Enviance Services Private Limited, an internationally accredited certification agency. This marks the first Skógarkolefni Forest Carbon project to achieve such international recognition, confirming its compliance with ISO 14064-2:2019 and adherence to leading global climate project standards.

The Municipality of Akureyri recently received a grant of ISK 1.9 million from the SSNE Development Fund for a project entitled “Welcome to Akureyri.” The project aims to promote cooperation between companies and institutions on how best to welcome employees of foreign origin.
