This news was first published on 20 April 2026. Updated 28 May: From 1 June onwards, a notification will appear in the seafarer registration system if a person being registered does not hold a valid seafarer medical certificate. Such individuals are encouraged to obtain a certificate as soon as possible, and no later than 1 September 2026. As of 1 September, it will no longer be possible to register a crew member who does not hold a valid seafarer medical certificate.

The Chief Epidemiologist has issued guidelines regarding when individuals connected to a group infection at the preschool can return to school or work.
