The Directorate of Health has published statistics on suicide for the year 2024. At the same time, statistics on all causes of death were updated. There were a total of 48 suicides last year, or 12.4 per 100,000 inhabitants.

Today, on the Day of Icelandic Sign Language, the new and exciting Children’s Page of the Communication Centre for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (SHH) was officially launched.

The central government financial statements for 2024 have been published. The statements are presented in three parts: the consolidated financial statements of the state as a whole, the consolidated financial statements of Part A of the state budget, and a special report on Section A1.

The Icelandic Transport Authority has implemented a new electronic system for the processing of exemptions. The application process remains largely unchanged; however, applicants are advised to familiarise themselves with the following changes introduced with the new system.

Dr Helga Dögg Flosadóttir, CEO and co-founder of the innovation company Atmonia, led a successful €2.5 million grant application to the European Innovation Council's (EIC) EIC Transition fund. This is the first time an Icelandic project has received a grant from the EIC Transition fund.
