The Chief Epidemiologist was informed last night of an adult in Northern Iceland diagnosed with measles. The individual noticed a rash on April 17th and sought medical attention on April 18th. Measles was suspected and later confirmed. The person is now isolating at home.

Open call for Nordic maritime transport and energy research

Iceland Health recently conducted a survey of satisfaction and trust among users of healthcare centres in Iceland. The survey is part of the regular monitoring of services provided by Iceland Health on the basis of agreements with the institution. The results are useful for both Iceland Health, health authorities and the healthcare centres themselves for policy making, development and promotion of services.

Today the Centre for Education and School Services is in operation, which will play a key role in promoting the education system and implementing the government’s education policy.

The National catastrophe insurance of Iceland (NTÍ) has received a total of 432 reports of damage due to the natural disaster in Grindavík, of which 8 reports were received last week. 266 house properties and 15 contents have been inspected, but 122 damage to house property and 29 damage to contents/moveable property remain uninspected, which is unclear when it will be possible to inspect.

The VOR system of the Directorate of Fisheries will be updated next Tuesday, December 19th.
