Request for republication in the Medicine Price Catalogue
On the 15th of each month, or the previous working day, the Icelandic Medicines Agency retrieves a list from the website of the Icelandic Health Insurance (Sjúkratryggingar Íslands) of medicines that have been listed as out of stock for more than 90 days. These medicines will be removed from the drug price list due to stock shortage at the end of that month.
To have information about a medicine reinstated in the medicine price catalogue, a form must be completed and submitted to the Icelandic Medicines Agency.
Applications for republication must be submitted by the 6th of each month in order for the medicine to be included in the next published medicine price catalogue.
Example: An application must be submitted by December 6th if the republication is to take place on January 1st.
