From February 20, there is no need to apply for admission to Grindavik.

Keys to properties

Home and property owners in Grindavík are encouraged to pick up keys.

Unclaimed keys can be obtained at the reception service of Grindavíkurbær, located at Tollhúsinu, Tryggvagata 19 in Reykjavík. Keys can be collected upon presentation of identification documents on weekdays between 12:00-16:00 until June 1st, 2024. After that time, unclaimed keys will be transferred to the warehouse.

If owners cannot pick up the keys themselves, they must provide a written authorization for someone else to pick up the keys on their behalf.

Assistance

Civil Protection offers support for packing, moving, and storage for individuals and families in vulnerable situations. Applications are processed through the social services of Grindavík. Those who believe they need such support are encouraged to contact the social services at phone number 420-1100 or email felagsradgjafi@grindavik.is. Interviews with social workers are also available at the two service centers, at Tollhúsið Tryggvagata and the Red Cross in Reykjanesbær.
