Visit from Riga Court of Appeals

The Supreme Court was visited yesterday by Riga Court of Appeals (Riga Regional Court), which was attended by Daiga Vilsone, President of the Court, Līga Blūmiņa, Chair of the Court's Civil Division, Ingūna Amoliņa, Acting Chair of the Criminal Division of the Court, and Svetlana Beļajeva, Judge of the Court's Civil Division.
President of the Supreme Court Benedikt Bogason, Director of the Office Ólöf Finnsdóttir and Assistant to the President Linda Ramdani were welcomed, introduced to the courthouse and the operations of the Supreme Court. There were good discussions about what is similar and what is different with the legal systems of Iceland and Latvia and developments in the courts, especially in the field of technological innovation and electronic procedures.
