The case is a precursor to the case whereby the court of Iceland, by a verdict of the Landsréttur court of 23 March 2018 in case no. 6/2018, convicted X of traffic offences by driving a vehicle deprived of his driving license and under the influence of drugs. The court of Iceland, by the Supreme Court of 24 May 2018 in case no. 10/2018, upheld the court of Iceland’s decision. The reopening court rule was passed on 31 March 2022 on the request of X to reopen the case.
