EEA Competition held in the Supreme Court and the District Court of Reykjavík

The EEA Competition is held by the EFTA Surveillance Authority in cooperation with the EFTA Court and the universities in Iceland and Norway. The competition was held simultaneously in the Supreme Court and the District Court of Reykjavík.
Last March, the EEA Competition was held in Iceland. The competition is organized by the EFTA Surveillance Authority in cooperation with the EFTA Court and the universities in Iceland and Norway. The competition was held simultaneously at the Supreme Court and the Reykjavík District Court.
This was the ninth time the competition was held, which is held annually and alternately in Iceland and Norway. The competition was first held in 2015. The competition was hosted by teams from the University of Iceland, the University of Reykjavík and the universities in Oslo, Björgvin and Stavanger The University of Reykjavík team was the winner. The winners were Anna Mae Manning, Daniela Yolanda Melara Lara, Julia Scandolo, Nikoleta Pohankova, and Pétur Magnús Pétursson, who was chosen as the speaker of the competition.
The finalists were Páll Hreinsson, President of the EFTA Court, Benedikt Bogason, President of the Supreme Court, Árni Páll Árnason, Board member of the EFTA Surveillance Authority, Hildur Hjörvar and Ciarán Burke, lawyers at the EFTA Surveillance Authority and lawyers Helga Melkorka Óttarsdóttir and Dóra Sif Tynes.
