26th August 2025
A study on the status of women aged 50-66 receiving disability pension was discussed at a symposium on August 20th, and the entire symposium was recorded.

At the well-attended symposium, presentations were given by Huld Magnúsdóttir, CEO of the Social Insurance Administration, Ari Klængur Jónsson, project manager at the Social Science Research Institute, Sigríður Ingibjörg Ingadóttir, economist at BSRB, and Hanna Sigríður Gunnsteinsdóttir, CEO of the Administration of Occupational Safety and Health. Following their presentations, they participated in a panel discussion moderated by Eysteinn Eyjólfsson, communications director of VIRK, who also served as the symposium's chairperson.
Special thanks are extended to the participants in the study for taking the time to respond to the survey on which the research is based.
The results are published in a report by the Social Science Research Institute, which was prepared at the request of the Social Insurance Administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Housing, the Welfare Watch, and the Administration of Occupational Safety and Health.
