New phone system launched

17th March 2025

We have implemented a new phone system with the aim of further improving our call response and reducing waiting times when calling us. This is part of the Social Insurance Administration's improvement efforts, as many people contact us by phone for assistance and information. For example, in 2023, we received over 67,000 calls to TR, or an average of about 5,500 per month. It is important for us to have an efficient phone system to serve our customers in the best possible way. Following the implementation, there may be some delays in the first few days, and we ask our customers to show us patience.

Customer Service Representative

We have direct lines for our main categories which are: old-age pension, rehabilitation pension, disability pension, family matters, collection, and settlements. Customers choose a category based on their inquiry or question. Under the pension categories of old-age pension, rehabilitation pension, and disability pension, there are, for example, household supplements, car matters, income estimates, and payment plans. Family matters include, for example, care payments for children and child support, while settlements and collection cover refunds, life certificates, and various collection issues. It should be noted that matters relating to, for example, residence abroad are handled within the pension category from which the individual receives payments, i.e., old-age pension or disability.

It's worth reminding that inquiries can be sent via email to TR through My Pages TR. All letters and documents from TR are published on My Pages TR.

It's possible to book an appointment with an advisor through the Noona app regarding old-age pension, rehabilitation, and collection. This is a very good way to have a specific time reserved for an interview with a specialist at TR. These interviews are primarily intended for more detailed consultations and advice.

Given the opportunity, we would like to remind you that Icelandic Health Insurance handles reimbursements for health services, tel. 515 0000.
