Visit to Bessastaðir

Last week, on November 6th, the children of Táknmálseyja visited the President of Iceland, Mrs. Halla Tómasdóttir, at Bessastaðir. The visit was part of the project Sign Language Island – Knights of Love, which is carried out by the Communication Centre for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, in collaboration with List fyrir alla and is supported by the Icelandic Children's Cultural Fund.
During the visit, the Táknmálseyjubörnin showed the president a sign language version of the song, Riddari Kærleikans. The song was written by Dagmar Helga Helgadóttir and Valgerður Rakel Rúnarsdóttir and translated into Icelandic sign language by Kolbrún Völkudóttir. The song will be premiered and published on SHH media on Thursday, November 13th.
The visit was wonderful in every way and Mrs. Halla Tómasdóttir welcomed us very nicely.
