Visit to Bessastaðir

Last week, on November 6th, the children of Táknmálseyja visited the President of Iceland, Mrs. Halla Tómasdóttir, at Bessastaðir. The visit was part of the project „Táknmálseyja – Knights of Love“, which is carried out by the Communication Centre for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in collaboration with List fyrir alla (Art for all) and is supported by the Children's Culture Fund of Iceland.
During the visit, the children showed the president a sign language version of the song „Knights of Love“. The song was written by Dagmar Helga Helgadóttir and Valgerður Rakel Rúnarsdóttir and translated into Icelandic sign language by Kolbrún Völkudóttir. The song will be premiered and published on SHH social media on Thursday, November 13th.
The visit was wonderful in every way and Mrs. Halla Tómasdóttir a warm and gracious host.
