New Rate for the Communication Centre
13th August 2024
The new tariff of the Communication Center came into effect on 5 July.
The main changes are that the center now charges one hourly rate for services during daytime hours and another hourly rate outside daytime hours, regardless of the type of service provided. The cneter charges a minimum of three hours for services that take place entirely outside daytime working hours. The hourly rate according to the new tariff for service is now ISK 10,500 during daytime hours and ISK 15,000 after office hours.
The center is also now authorized to collect a driving fee for services provided outside its headquarters and travel expenses and per diem allowances if the service takes place outside the capital area.
Fees for sign language courses have also been simplified and adjusted to the estimated number of hours in accordance with the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Sign language people and their immediate families are now exempt from paying course fees for all of the Institute's sign language courses, and not just family courses.
