The communication center organizes regular ÍTM children's get-togethers called Táknmálseyja, i.e. The Sign Language Island.Students from Hlíðskóli's sign language department, as well as other ÍTM children and young persons from other schools in the country, gather at the Communication Center every Thursday from 14:00 to 16:00.

• This time together takes place entirely in Icelandic sign language, under the guidance of the sign language teachers at the Communication Centre.

• The goal is to connect ÍTM children of all ages in play and work.
