Specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Hired at SAk's Psychiatric Ward

Anna Sigríður Pálsdóttir, a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry, has been appointed to a full-time position at the Psychiatric Ward of Akureyri Hospital (SAk).
She began her work on October 1 and will serve as a specialist alongside psychiatrists in the adult ward. In addition to her medical duties, Anna Sigríður will actively contribute to the development of interdisciplinary teamwork and the enhancement of services within the ward.
Anna Sigríður obtained her specialist certification in child and adolescent psychiatry in the spring of 2021 and has worked extensively within the mental health care system in recent years. Her experience includes roles as a specialist at Landspítali University Hospital, Chief Physician at the Child Mental Health Center, and Psychiatrist at the North Iceland Healthcare Institution. She also serves on the board of Umhyggja, the Icelandic Association for Chronically Ill Children.
