Experts from the National Archives travel to the east
3rd September 2024
The National Archives of Iceland’s specialists in records management will be traveling to East Iceland from 23 - 25 September.
The purpose of the trip is to visit entities in the area that are required to submit records to the National Archives of Iceland and provide advice on issues related to records management and archiving, such as the organization and submission of paper records to the National Archives, electronic records management, case and document registration, as well as the preservation and appraisal of records.
The presence of the archivists in East Iceland in September is part of the initiative to increase services to the National Archives' submission-obligated parties in rural areas. The National Archives has over the years provided advice on records management and archiving to these parties, as well as organizing visits and seminars. In June, submission-obligated parties in Snæfellsnes were visited, including local authorities and institutions and municipalities that are required to submit records to the National Archives.
Additional counseling visits may be added to the itinerary of the trip to East Iceland. Request for a visit must be sent by e-mail to skjalavarsla@skjalasafn.is.
