Educational visit to the National Archives by the staff of the regional archives

The National Archives of Iceland received staff from several regional archives on an educational visit from November 12-15.
The idea for the educational visit came from the district archives in Ísafjörður, which wanted to visit the National Archives and learn about the operation as part of the continuous education of the staff. More district archives were added to the group and from six employees from four district archives attended educational information about the operation of the National Archives these days, from the district archives in Eastern Skaftafellssýsla, Rangæinga- and Western Skaftafellssýsla, Kópavogur and Ísafjörður.
The employees of the regional archives were educated on various tasks of the National Archives, such as on the issue of documents, digital restoration, dissemination, advisory and supervision, electronic archiving, reception of paper archives, information services and the completion and registration of documents. A total of 14 employees of the National Archives participated in various aspects of the education.
The visit was well received and the National Archives have invited the staff of all regional archives to receive such information.
