On 1 March, the City Archives website was closed, but all content from the site related to access to the collection and the publication of digital reconstructions has now been transferred to the National Archives’ website and is accessible on heimildir.is as of today.

There will therefore be no interruption to this service for users of the archives, and census records, fire assessments, minutes, the city’s oldest documents, and other popular materials remain accessible online.
