The year’s activities were characterized by a number of forms of development and collaboration. Strengthening of infrastructure was the main focus of the year, and a new core area, the Office of Education and Research, was established. The operational area was further strengthened. Furthermore, major steps were taken in web-based media with the opening of the new main website of the museum in collaboration with island.is. Registration of older archives was greatly increased, and the preservation of private archives was also given a high priority. A new registration system was implemented at the end of the year and the implementation and development of this system will continue over the next several years, to name just a few.
