Archives received in the third quarter of 2024

In the third quarter of 2024 (July to September), the National Archives of Iceland received 50 archives for preservation. Of these, 14 were from public entities and 36 were from private parties.
Two of these archives from public entities were delivered in electronic form, that is in the so-called custodial version of electronic data, while other archives were paper archives. The total volume of paper archives delivered during the period was 166 shelf meters, including 59,5 shelf meters of private archives and 106,5 shelf meters of archives of parties that were required to deliver. Electronic data counted 97,1 gigabytes in volume.
The total amount of documents received during the year is therefore 493 shelf metres of paper documents and 578.8 gigabytes of electronic data.
