Anna Agnarsdóttir leaves the chair of the board of directors of the National Archives of Iceland

The board meeting of the National Archives was held last week, the third meeting of the year. It was the last meeting of the current chair of the board, Anna Agnarsdóttir. At the end of the meeting, she was presented with flowers and thanked for her hard work over the past eight years, which is the maximum number of years serving on the board.

The board of directors of the National Archives of Iceland is appointed by the minister and advises the director, the archivist, the director of the National Archives of Iceland on policy and other matters related to the museum’s activities. In addition to the chairman the board of directors consists of Erla Hulda Halldórsdóttir, Gunnar Örn Hannesson, Jóna Símonía Bjarnadóttir, Óskar Jörgen Sandholt and Ragna Kemp Haraldsdóttir. The alternates are Gylfi Dalmann Aðalsteinsson, Karen Þóra Sigurkarlsdóttir, Kolbrún Erna Magnúsdóttir, Páll S. Brynjarsson, Valur Ingimundarson and Viðar Pálsson.
During the eight years, the operation of the National Archives has undergone many changes, and the housing issues of the institution have been a topic of discussion. As chairwoman, Anna has been very active in resolving these issues as well as others and has been tireless in her support of the National Archives.
