Report of the National Election Board on the preparation and conduct of municipal elections

The National Election Board submitted its report on the preparation and conduct of the municipal elections, which took place on 14 May 2022, to the Ministry of Justice.
The report of the National Electoral Commission on the preparation and conduct of the municipal elections on 14 May 2022 has just been published and was submitted to the Ministry of Justice today.
This is a milestone for the Office of the National Electoral Commission, established at the beginning of this year as the new Elections Act came into force. This is the submission of the first report by the National Electoral Commission to the Minister on the preparation and conduct of elections, but according to the Act the Minister shall submit the report to the Parliament (Alþingi).
The report includes a report on the role, composition and activities of the National Electoral Commission Board for the year and discusses the preparation and conduct of the municipal elections on 14 May 2022.
