A member of the electoral commission and a representative in the national electoral commission shall be removed from the electoral commission if an individual is standing for election who is or has been:

The spouse, cohabiting partner, former cohabiting partner, or former cohabiting partner of a member of the electoral commission, or his or her obligations or duties, or reduced him or her to a direct line, or obligations or reduced him or her to another team aside, or connected to him or her in the same way due to adoption.
