Well done!

3rd July 2024

The construction of a power line in Rangárvellir towards Gunnarsholt was recently completed. During the project, great attention was paid to maintaining high-quality standards, and as a result, minimal traces of the construction work are visible upon completion.

The project entailed the installation of an underground electrical cable from Hella to Gunnarsholt and neighboring farms. As part of this project, an aging air line will be decommissioned. This will enhance the reliability of electricity supply in the region.

Mr. Garðar Þorfinnsson, a land reclamation consultant at Land and Forest Iceland in the Southern region, kindly shared some insightful observations regarding the construction of the cable. As evident from the attached photographs, the project is being meticulously executed by Rarik and the esteemed contractor company Línuborun.

Disturbance is carefully processed here and it is likely that the traces will disappear quickly

Frequently, the emphasis is placed on negative aspects rather than positive achievements and exemplary practices. In this instance, We would like to highlight a commendable example of sound environmental practices and a positive attitude towards nature. This example serves as a valuable model for other projects, both in inhabited areas and in natural settings. Well done!

Here no signs of the cable ploughing are visible, only minor belt marks
