The Great Forest Day in Hallormsstaður National Forest features the Icelandic Logging Championship, commencing at noon. Competitions include felling, delimbing, log splitting, and other chainsaw skills demonstrations by skilled forestry professionals. Simultaneously, the Nature School will engage children with puzzles and games.

We eagerly anticipate the announcement of this year's Icelandic Logging Champion at the celebratory gathering in Mörkin, starting at 1 pm and concluding at 4 pm. This festive event includes a diverse stage program, featuring the final championship events, musical performances, and other attractions. Additionally, the Hérad and East Fjords cattle and sheep farmers' associations will offer grilled beef and lamb. Fire-cooked pancakes and traditional forester's coffee will also be available.
