Key responsibilities

  • Developing geographic information systems and related processes within LOGS.

  • Analysing geographic data derived from research projects.

  • Conducting suitability analyses for regional projects.

  • Acquiring research data using Survey123, Field Maps, and Quick Capture.

  • Data registration, processing, and coordination.

  • Providing support for the geographic information components of research projects.

This position entails significant collaboration with colleagues and experts at Land and Forest Iceland. Responsibilities include supporting the utilisation and implementation of spatial information solutions, coordinating datasets and data collection for research initiatives, and managing data processing, analysis, and dissemination. Land and Forest Iceland utilises an ESRI spatial information system, therefore, proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Survey 123, Field Maps, and web solutions is essential.

Main required Qualifications

  • Relevant university degree; a Master's degree in spatial information is preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with spatial information systems.

  • Strong analytical skills for numerical data.

  • Familiarity with suitability analysis methodologies is advantageous.
