New booklet on wetlands

Land and Forest Iceland has released an educational brochure focusing on wetland conservation and restoration initiatives.

This twelve-page illustrated brochure offers a concise explanation of how drainage affects wetlands. It underlines the main arguments for wetland restoration, highlighting the advantages for the biosphere and the positive effects on greenhouse gas emissions in the specified areas.
In addition, the brochure explains the goals of wetland recovery initiatives, providing details on the procedures applied by Land and Forest Iceland. It also covers the application and negotiation processes for these projects, including mapping, permitting, and the execution of restoration efforts. Monitoring activities are carried out throughout the contract period, with opportunities for participant engagement.
