Land and Forest Iceland seeks a highly skilled Human Resource Manager to join our team in Iceland. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing human resource strategies that align with our commitment to sustainable land use and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

1. Human Resource Policy and Analytics:

  • Formulate and monitor human resource policies to ensure compliance with legal and organisational standards.

  • Analyse human resource data and metrics to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Oversee the human resource team and ensure effective resource allocation.

2. Talent Acquisition and Development:

  • Assess human resource needs and develop recruitment strategies to attract top talent.

  • Manage the recruitment process, including screening, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.

  • Facilitate professional development opportunities and training programs for employees.

3. Human Resource Processes and Compliance:

  • Implement and monitor human resource processes to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Update and maintain the employee handbook to reflect current policies and procedures.

  • Facilitate staff meetings and ensure effective communication within the organisation.

4. Strategic Involvement and Decision-Making:

  • Participate in policy formulation and provide strategic guidance to senior management.

  • Serve as a member of the executive council and contribute to organisational decision-making.

5. Management Consulting and Support:

  • Provide consulting services to managers on human resource-related matters.

  • Offer guidance on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.

6. Professional Development and Safety:

  • Oversee professional development initiatives for employees to enhance their skills and competencies.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and work protection regulations.

  • Participate in event management and other ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Human Resources or a related field.

  • Proven experience in human resource management, preferably in an environmental or sustainability-focused organisation.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a non-local position, and the successful candidate will be based in Iceland, communicating mainly in Icelandic. Pay is according to the current wage agreement which has been concluded between the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the relevant union.
