The Icelandic Geographic Information Association (LISA) is a professional organisation for people who work with, or have an interest in, geographic information and geospatial technologies. The association promotes knowledge-sharing, collaboration and professional development through conferences, educational meetings and workplace visits, among other activities.

The group visited Land and Forest Iceland on 10 September at the agency's new offices on Vínlandsleið in Reykjavík. According to Project Manager Atli Guðjónsson, staff members presented a variety of projects, datasets and technological solutions related to geographic information and geospatial data.

The visitors gained insight into how geospatial information is used across the agency's diverse activities and how digital solutions are being developed to support both staff and users of the agency's data.

Atli said the visit was both informative and enjoyable, providing an excellent opportunity for discussion, the exchange of experience and ideas, and conversations about developments in the field of geographic information. Land and Forest Iceland would like to thank LISA and all those who took part for their visit and for a pleasant and engaging afternoon.
