Land and Forest Iceland presents its support schemes at the Agricultural Exhibition
8th October 2026
Visitors to the Icelandic Agriculture Exhibition at Laugardalshöll this weekend will have the opportunity to meet advisers from Land and Forest Iceland and learn about a range of projects eligible for support from the agency. Topics include land reclamation, wetland restoration, forestry, and measures to combat erosion caused by waterways. The stand will also feature a variety of interesting items for visitors to explore and learn about.

Nearly one hundred exhibitors are taking part in this year's exhibition, ensuring a diverse and engaging programme. Grasses will indeed be among the exhibits at the Land and Forest Iceland stand, alongside trees, soil, seeds, timber, and other materials connected with the agency's work.
Earlier this year, a new regulation governing Land and Forest Iceland's support schemes came into force and is currently being implemented across the organisation. While the overall framework for support remains largely unchanged, work is under way to coordinate the various schemes and develop them in line with the new regulation. The establishment of a unified advisory framework creates new opportunities for development, including the possibility of assessing entire farms and landholdings in relation to all the projects for which Land and Forest Iceland provides advice and funding. Such ideas are currently being explored, and visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to discuss them with the agency's advisers, as well as to learn more about individual support schemes.
The stand will also offer a range of displays and hands-on learning opportunities related to the agency's activities. Visitors will be able to examine different soil types, samples of timber and tree seedlings, various kinds of seed, stems of lyme grass, and other materials that may spark questions and encourage discussion about the purpose, objectives, results, and benefits of Land and Forest Iceland's work.
Three days of exhibitions and record attendance expected
