Land and Forest Iceland (LOGS) is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team and contribute to the development and preservation of Iceland's green resources. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in geographic information systems (GIS) and have a proven track record of successfully managing data collection, processing, analysis, conservation, and sharing. This individual will play a pivotal role within our data, communication, and innovation division, contributing to our mission of promoting sustainable land use and maximising economic, environmental, and social benefits of the resources in question.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Work on the development and construction of geographic information systems and processes within LOGS.

• Development and installation of web solutions (webmaps, Storymaps and Experience Builder).

• Data collection (Survey 123, Field Maps and Quick Capture).

• Analysis of data.

• Data gathering and processing.

• Intermittent tasks within the geographic information systems team.

The projects encompass the development of digital land information solutions for specific projects and divisions within Land and Forest Iceland. The objective is to enhance accessibility to information and provide a comprehensive overview of individual projects and the organisation as a whole. The work entails extensive communication with LOGS colleagues and experts, including assistance with the utilisation and implementation of land information solutions. It also involves the development of projects and processes, as well as the processing of data into LOGS databases. Additional incidental projects may include assistance with processing and acquiring flight data. Land information is becoming an increasingly integral component of LOGS projects, thus offering significant opportunities for professional growth. LOGS employs a land information system from ESRI, and it is essential that the individual possesses knowledge of that environment, encompassing ArcGIS Pro, Survey 123, Field maps, and web solutions.

Skills requirements

Professional aspects:

• Master's degree in geo-information or equivalent work experience (minimum two years of experience working with geo-information as a primary function).

• Good knowledge and skills in using ESRI software, ArcGis Pro, Survey 123, Field maps, web solutions, maps, etc.

• Experience in the installation of online solutions and knowledge of the web environment of ESRI.

• Knowledge of working with image data and imaging.

• Competence in analysing statistical information.

• Knowledge of data processing and installation.

• Knowledge of the production of online solutions (ESRI).
