Expanded Leadership Team at Land and Forest Iceland
6th March 2026
Fourteen team leaders have been appointed across the divisions of Land and Forest Iceland. The role of the team leaders is to oversee specific focus areas within each division and to strengthen professional leadership across the agency. This new structure promotes greater delegation of authority, stronger connections between staff and management, and increased opportunities for employees to influence the progress of projects and initiatives.

The team structure was formally introduced at a staff meeting held at the Hilton Hotel Nordica in Reykjavík on 27 February. The meeting was attended by the vast majority of the agency’s employees.
During the session, staff participated in group discussions exploring the core values of Land and Forest Iceland, which were renewed at the turn of the year alongside changes to the agency’s organisational structure and strategy.
The workshop marked the formal launch of an implementation project that will continue through the autumn in collaboration with the consulting firm Hugsýn. The project aims to embed the new structure, strengthen leadership capabilities across the organisation, and support all staff in working towards the agency’s strategic goals.
Team leaders are appointed for two-year terms. The team structure will be subject to ongoing review and adjustment as needed, reflecting the development of projects and priorities.
