Land and Forest is looking for strong staff to work on the development and conservation of Icelandic vegetation resources through land reclamation, new forests and forest preservation to promote the economic, environmental and social benefits of sustainable land use. We are now looking for an expert who works with geographical data and databases, as well as geographical analyses. The deadline for applications is 7 October.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Work on the development and construction of geographic information systems and processes within LOGS.
Integration/Standardisation of datasets LOGS.
Quality control of the institution's data and record of processes.
Data recording and processing.
Documentation of data sets and processes.
Analysis of data.
Intermittent tasks within the geographic information team.
Skills requirements
B.Sc. degree suitable for the task. Master's degree is an advantage.
Knowledge of database structure and database processing.
Knowledge and skills in using ESRI software.
Experience in the analysis of geographical data.
Knowledge of data standards.
Knowledge of copying and storing data.
Knowledge of cloud solutions and data mining.
Good ability in English and Icelandic.

The wages are according to the current wage agreement which has been negotiated between the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the relevant union.
