Come monitore the land!
4th July 2025
Nationwide, the public will be invited to participate in the land monitoring project "Landvöktun", contributing to the observation of vegetation and soil development within their respective regions. This initiative aims to facilitate public engagement in the conservation of the nation's vegetation resources.

Land Monitoring - key to a better land is a demographic initiative providing landowners and stakeholders with an innovative approach to understanding their environment. Through active participation, individuals can monitor vegetation and soil dynamics within their designated areas, thereby influencing future land conditions. This engagement fosters environmental awareness while enabling contributions to land improvement initiatives.
The project's implementation is streamlined. Participants select their monitoring sites and conduct assessments at their convenience. Data collection utilises smartphones to document vegetation and soil conditions. These observations, combined with supplementary data, inform land condition evaluations and enhance decision-making related to sustainable land management practices and land quality restoration efforts.
