Statement by the Iceland Health regarding news of information broadcast to service recipients and healthcare professionals

Iceland Health regrets that information for healthcare was mistakenly sent out to a limited group of service recipients and healthcare professionals, in connection with a change in the transmission of data. Processing was stopped as soon as the case was discovered.
It is worth noting that the information that was sent only related to services that the recipient had received from the healthcare professionals in question and contained information that the recipient and the healthcare professional were entitled to receive.
Iceland Health is very focused on data security and takes the issue seriously. We have analyzed what happened and have taken appropriate measures in the transmission of data to prevent a repeat.
