A new feature has been added to My Pages (Login) on island.is, allowing individuals to renew certain assistive device entitlements themselves, without the involvement of healthcare professionals or vendors. The same feature has been available in the Iceland Health Data Portal, Gagnagátt, since this summer for healthcare professionals and vendors.

The products for which this feature is available for include, among others:

• Urinary catheters and urine bags

• Certain aids for diabetes

• Wigs, head coverings, artificial eyebrows, eyelashes, and tattoos

• Compression socks

• Splints for sleep apnea

• Prosthetic breasts and paddles

• Diapers

• Stoma products

• Protective gloves

• Shoe insoles

These applications are processed immediately, once certain conditions are met, and a response letter is received the following days in the digital mailbox. The development of this functionality continues at Iceland Health, and more features will be added over time.
