There are at least three new nursing homes that are expected to start operating in the coming years and will be located in the capital area and the Suðurnes region.

A new housing arrangement for nursing homes will be implemented in these projects, where it is proposed that the nursing home operator will review the design and implementation of the home’s internal arrangements, to ensure the quality and feasibility of the expected operations. At this time, there is no number of spaces and precise location of the homes. The procurement process for the operation and services of each nursing home will progress in line with the progress of housing in each case.

It is desirable that operators operate on the basis of a non-profit arrangement or where profits are reinvested or used for the purpose of the operation.

Payments to new/new operators will be based on current agreements on the operation and services of nursing homes at any given time.

Those operators who express interest in participating in the construction of new nursing homes pursuant to this advertisement will be invited to participate in the selection process of the Iceland Health for each nursing home operator.
