Alice Harpa Björgvinsdóttir hired as HSN's chief psychologist
20th December 2023
Alice Harpa Björgvinsdóttir has been hired as chief psychologist at HSN.
The appointment of Alice Harpa Björgvinsdóttir as chief psychologist at HSN has been finalised, while Pétur Maack is on leave because of other projects.
Alice Harpa has extensive experience of working as a psychologist and administrator. Lastly, Alice worked as the managing director of the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences at SAk while running and working in her own practice. She was previously the Senior Psychologist at SAk.
HSN's psychosocial services currently employ 15 employees, in addition to the hiring of two psychologists who will start work in the new year. Psychologists at HSN provide psychotherapy to children and adults. Services are provided in both on-site and remote interviews, individual and group treatments.
The HSN mental health team is comprised of social workers, occupational therapist, nurse and psychologist, in addition to the hiring of a psychiatrist. The team is a rehabilitation team that provides multidisciplinary services to adults who have problems that are heavier or more diverse than that of first-line treatment.
In recent years, there has been a great development in HSN's psychosocial services. The main thing to mention is the increasing emphasis on remote treatments and the further implementation of information technology, i.a. through Heilsuvera.
We welcome Alice Harpa to HSN.
