Ketill Berg Magnússon is the new Execucive Director of Human Resources

Ketill Berg Magnússon has been appointed as Executive Director of Human Resources at Heilsugæsla höfuðborgarsvæðisins. Ketill will assume the position on January 1. He has previously worked as Regional Director of Human Resources for Northern Europe at Marel in Iceland.
Sigurborg Jónsdóttir has been serving as Acting Executive Director of Human Resources since Svava Kristín Þorkelsdóttir stepped down at the end of last August. Sigurborg will continue in this role until Ketill assumes the position at the beginning of next year.
Ketill is an experienced leader with over twenty years of international experience in human resources, strategy, and sustainability. He joins Heilsugæsla höfuðborgarsvæðisins from JBT Marel, where he worked as Regional Director of Human Resources for Northern Europe, overseeing HR strategy and the development of the work environment for more than 5,000 employees across 26 locations. Most recently he led global strategy in travel security and crisis management.
Previously, Ketill served as Executive Director at Festa – the Center for Sustainability, where he led the development of a collaboration network of over 100 companies and organizations. He has also worked as HR Director at Síminn where he held diverse management and advisory roles, shaping strategy, supporting workplace culture, and developing leadership capabilities within organizations.
Ketill holds an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, an MA in Philosophy and Business Ethics from the University of Saskatchewan, a BA in Philosophy from the University of Iceland, and completed executive coaching studies at Reykjavik University. He also teaches at Reykjavik University in the fields of sustainability and business ethics.
